Senior / Lead Engineer, Data & Software (m/f/d)
We usually respond within two weeks
Driven by the passion to improve quality of people’s lives, WSA continues to grow as a market leader in the hearing aid industry. With our commitment to increase penetration in an underserved hearing care market, we want to accelerate our business transformation in order to reach more people, more effectively.
We are transforming how our organisation works with data by moving from a centralised data delivery model to a domain-driven Data Product approach. Our goal is to make high-quality, trustworthy, and discoverable data available where it’s needed, when it’s needed. In this role, you will help lay the foundations for this new ecosystem, enabling AI, analytics, and innovation to thrive across the company.
What you will do
You will be a hands-on engineer and a key driver in shaping and maintaining our Data Product ecosystem. In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain Data Products that serve one or more specific business purposes
Collaborate with domain experts to understand source systems, the meaning of data, and the processes it reflects.
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that enable self-service data access in a governed way.
Apply and champion modern data governance practices
Support AI projects and analytics teams by ensuring their needs are met through well-designed Data Products rather than ad hoc deliveries.
Continuously explore new technologies, tools, and patterns
What you bring
We expect you to be a highly proactive engineer who sees data as a product and values both technical excellence and collaboration. You understand that high-quality data begins with knowing where and how it is generated, and you are eager to engage with subject matter experts to accurately model reality. You thrive in a distributed ownership environment where communication, documentation, and governance are as important as pipeline performance.
You are a team player who seeks feedback, embraces openness, and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement. Creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude are part of your strengths.
Experience
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
Experience with modern software development principles (CI/CD, test automation, version control)
Experience with a variety of database technologies (relational, document, graph, etc.)
Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g. Spark, Flink, Hadoop)
Familiarity with data governance concepts and tools (catalogs, lineage tracking, RBAC)
Experience building APIs, event streams, or services for data access is a plus
Personal competencies
You leverage modern infrastructure and automation to build robust, scalable systems
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and communicating across teams
Work independently and have excellent problem-solving skills
You enjoy thinking beyond code, about usability, governance, and the lifecycle of the data you build
