Having a graduate buddy
As part of the Graduate Program, our new graduates are matched with a second-year graduate or post-graduate to support their day-to-day onboarding to the program and stakeholders.
Armando Zimone from the class of 2023, has been matched with Wutong Xia from the class of 2022, and with only a few months into the program, this has already proved valuable.
"Having a buddy in a graduate program is like having a compass in the uncharted territory of a new organization. Wutong is there to offer indispensable guidance, resolute support, and a clear sense of direction based on her previous experience as a graduate. That is extremely valuable as one traverses the intricate landscape of starting a job in a new industry," says Armando Zimone.
Onboarding to WSA and our Graduate Program
The first week of the Graduate Program consists of a common onboarding to both our company and the program.
Key takeaways from Francisca and Pratyush, both from the class of 2023:
“Having our CEO, Eric Bernard connect and provide us insights indicated how a great deal of importance is given to the development plan of WSA graduates. The whole week we were introduced to the company and the industry by colleagues from different functions and everybody was excited to welcome us. These introductions also consisted of fun workshops which was refreshing.” Says Pratyush Khanra, currently doing his first rotation in Corporate Finance.
“The onboarding week was especially customized to demonstrate why, what, and how the company strive for and how we have the opportunity to put our mark on it. Each day was purposely structured to introduce us to the different core values of the company, with the aim of connecting us and our Graduate Program to them. It was a week defined by inspirational, insightful, and integrating sessions.” Says Francisca Pereira, currently doing her first rotation in Global Marketing.
Insights on the functional rotations
“As you embrace your next rotation, you’ll discover the program’s benefits coming into full bloom. You’ll sense the refinement of your skillset, the growth of your network within the organization, and a clearer vision of WSA’s strategic path. All this will motivate you to realize your full potential, knowing you’re playing a significant role in WSA’s success!” Says Laurenz Rebesky, 2022 graduate currently doing his second rotation in EMEA Commercial Development.
Ziyi Jiang, 2023 graduate, is currently in her first rotation in Corporate Finance and her initial impression is that ”you can experience real life corporate finance working environment. You can learn a lot by being proactive and open to new tasks. It is intensive, but definitively a function where you can build a solid foundation and leverage in the future career.
Stefania Gallone, 2023 graduate describes her first rotation like this: "I’ve been part of the Corporate Strategy team for a month now, and I love it! It’s amazing to see that, despite my limited knowledge and experience in strategy and in the industry, the rest of the team values my opinion and prompts me to ask questions and challenge their points of view. It really makes you feel included and a fundamental part of the team."
WSA Graduate Network
When asking Rokas who joined in September 2022, what value it gives taking part of the Graduate Network, he says: “WSA’s Graduate Network provides a unique opportunity to build new friendships and create a mutual learning environment, where everyone can improve their skill sets by sharing various experiences from different departments. It allows everyone to develop a strong understanding of the business, as well as accelerate your personal and professional growth.” Rokas Sutkus is currently doing his second rotation in Corporate Finance.
For John who joined in September 2023, the benefits are more related to building a social network and receiving day-to-day advice: The graduate network has provided me with a sense of community from day one. Joining a large company like WSA can seem overwhelming, so it is nice to have the other graduates who you can always turn to for advice or simply a coffee chat.” John Lafranchise is currently doing his first rotation in EMEA Commercial Development.

Celebrating graduation
Our first class of WSA graduates, Ritvik Kotval and Yana Pak, embarked the Graduate Program in September 2021.
Recently, we got to celebrate their achievements and contributions to the program and to WSA in general. We are proud to have them continuing their careers within WSA.
"Being a part of the WSA Graduate Program was an enriching experience that helped me solidify my decision to pursue a role in Finance. Thanks to the three rotations, I was able to reaffirm my strengths in analyzing complex numbers and helping leaders make decisions. This program is definitely a great chance to use your Swiss Army knife and learn from all the various projects you are involved in. Making strong and long-lasting friendships with the other graduates is the cherry on top,” says Ritvik.
For Yana, the WSA Graduate Program gave her the opportunity to choose a role that matches her interests and career ambitions. "The WSA Graduate Program has been a fascinating journey of self-discovery. During my studies, I was not sure exactly what I wanted to focus on in the future. Through the rotations, however, I discovered that I really enjoy working with numbers and business analysis, while staying close to local markets. The WSA Graduate Program helped me to step into a new phase of my career which I am thrilled of.”
