The Role
As a senior privacy engineer in the Data Architecture, Governance and Compliance team in R&D you will be a part of a diverse and multicultural team. We are located in Lynge north of Copenhagen in Denmark, Erlangen Germany and in Singapore, but you will be working together with colleagues from all over the world.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products and systems adhere to the highest standards of data compliance and protection. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development teams in R&D, legal, and compliance and governance teams in the rest of the organisation to design, implement, and maintain compliance-enhancing technologies. Your work will help safeguard the privacy of our users while supporting our business objectives and ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Privacy Solutions Development: Design, implement, and maintain technical solutions that ensure privacy policies are effectively applied across all data usage, in compliance with legal standards and business needs
- Privacy by Design: Collaborate with product development teams to embed Privacy by Design principles into the lifecycle of new products and features from the outset
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all data use practices align with established regulatory requirements, including conducting regular privacy assessments and identifying areas for improvement
- Technical Leadership: Utilize current programming languages and technologies to develop software that mitigates privacy risks
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, software developers and a wide range of technical profiles, to ensure a cohesive approach to data privacy across R&D and the entire organization
- Risk Mitigation: Analyse potential privacy vulnerabilities in new data streams and develop proactive solutions to prevent privacy breaches
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate project progress, challenges, and risk analysis to key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams
- Privacy Product Development: Lead the development of new privacy-focused products and features, ensuring they meet both user needs and privacy standards
- Training & Guidance: Provide tools, training, and guidance to teams across the company to foster a culture of privacy awareness and compliance
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years of working in a technical position (data governance specialist, software developer etc.) within the area of data compliance
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C#), Experience with azure, data anonymization and encryption techniques, and experience with big data technologies
- Compliance: Understanding of global privacy regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and departments
