Category Manager, Indirect Procurement
We usually respond within two weeks
Driven by the passion to improve quality of people’s lives, WSA continues to grow as a market leader in the hearing aid industry. With our commitment to increase penetration in an underserved hearing care market, we want to accelerate our business transformation in order to reach more people, more effectively.
You will own and shape the indirect procurement landscape in Denmark, ensuring we spend the right money with the right suppliers – and for the right reasons. This role is about driving strategy, challenging stakeholders, and building strong supplier partnerships that create real business value.
What you will do
• Develop and execute category strategies and clear category plans across key indirect areas (FM, HR, IT, Operations, Sustainability, R&D, and Consultancy services).
• Drive strategic supplier collaboration to optimize spend, performance, and long-term value creation.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers – you are not a transactional buyer, but a strategic negotiator.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding of suppliers, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and smooth transitions.
• Analyze spend data and performance metrics to identify savings opportunities and improve cost transparency.
• Act as the main local interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders, balancing commercial focus with strong relationship management.
• Support the roll-out and optimization of procurement processes and systems (e.g., P2P tools), including stakeholder training and change management.
• Challenge stakeholders constructively to ensure procurement standards, sustainability principles, and financial targets are met.
What you bring
Experience
• Around 5 years of experience within procurement, including experience as a Category Manager or similar strategic role.
• Proven experience with strategic sourcing, category management, and contract negotiation within indirect categories.
• Solid understanding of supplier management, stakeholder management, and commercial decision-making.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a dynamic organization.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen – you understand spend, risk, and value drivers.
• Experience with procurement systems and structured sourcing processes is an advantage.
Personal competencies
• You are strategic by mindset and comfortable taking ownership of decisions.
• You have strong negotiation and convincing skills – and you’re not afraid to push back when needed.
• You balance diplomacy with firmness; you can say both “yes” and “no” with confidence.
• You are adaptable and eager to grow in a developing procurement environment.
• You build trust quickly with suppliers and stakeholders while maintaining commercial focus.
• You are resilient, pragmatic, and keep your cool when discussions get tough
