Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Head of Compliance (HoC) is responsible for WSA’s global programs which supports compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry best practices. The HoC position requires strong leadership and vision to continually enhance the compliance program and meet the company’s evolving needs.
What you will do
Build and direct the global compliance program, identifying opportunities to enhance value for the company.
Manage a compliance team (3 FTE in Singapore, United States and Denmark) and oversee the program’s implementation, ensuring it adapts to organizational changes and legal requirements.
Provide regular updates to senior management and the Audit Committee on compliance risks, audits, and significant activities.
Build strong relationships with business leaders to support strategic goals.
Develop, maintain and promote WSA’s Code of Conduct and related compliance policies.
Manage the ethics hotline and conduct internal investigations, collaborating with legal counsel as needed.
Facilitate internal communications and training on compliance topics through various channels.
Execute compliance auditing and monitoring programs, coordinating with WSA Internal Controls function.
Lead data, AI and and analytics strategy for compliance, creating metrics to assess program effectiveness.
Oversee third-party compliance programs and manage trade compliance related to sanctions.
Conduct annual compliance risk assessments and participate in enterprise risk management, implementing improvements to the compliance program.
Drive compliance due diligence.
Identify and implement systems and tools to support global compliance operations.
What you bring
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or Juris Doctorate preferred).
At least 10 years of experience in a senior compliance or legal role.
Deep knowledge within key compliance areas, e.g. anti-corruption, anti-bribery, money laundering and trade sanctions.
Experience managing third-party compliance and leading compliance audits.
Proven ability to lead investigations, manage confidential reporting systems, and maintain high ethical standards across the organization.
Extensive experience with international regulatory environments and cross-border compliance challenges.
Personal competencies
Strong business acumen, problem solving skills and communications skills (both written and oral) with attention to detail, and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Highly strategic, forward-thinking and collaborative, while having strong execution focus.
Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.
Must be a role model and team player with top of class interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, collaboration and team empowering both internally and externally.
