Lead Engineer, Windows Desktop & Cloud
We usually respond within two weeks
Driven by the passion to improve quality of people’s lives, WSA continues to grow as a market leader in the hearing aid industry. With our commitment to increase penetration in an underserved hearing care market, we want to accelerate our business transformation in order to reach more people, more effectively.
This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership. You will strengthen maintainability, improve engineering practices, and modernize systems incrementally while ensuring predictable delivery of professional software used by hearing care professionals.
Working closely with R&D teams and internal stakeholders, you will help evolve production systems, improve development workflows, and enable reliable, high-quality releases in a quality-focused environment.
What you will do
Architect & Implement: Provide hands-on technical leadership for our Windows Desktop ecosystem, specializing in .NET 4.7.2 Framework utilizing MVVM and XAML for robust, high-performance user interfaces.
Modernize Legacy: Lead the incremental modernization of our desktop portfolio, bridging the gap between established .NET Framework codebases and modern external cloud service integrations.
Optimize Performance: Improve system maintainability by implementing pragmatic standards for XAML-based UI and refactoring complex desktop workflows for better testability.
Strengthen Quality: Enhance release readiness through automated test strategies tailored for Windows applications and early visibility into integration risks with cloud-based backends.
Streamline CI/CD: Improve engineering effectiveness by optimizing build/release workflows specifically for desktop deployments, ensuring stable build loops and reliable installer generation.
Mentor & Scale: Foster knowledge sharing around desktop architecture patterns (MVVM) and cloud communication protocols to reduce single-person dependencies and strengthen team resilience.
Collaborate across R&D: Work with stakeholders to align firmware and AI image update flows with the desktop client, ensuring seamless diagnostic and fitting workflows for hearing care professionals.
What you bring
Experience
Senior Desktop Expertise: Demonstrated senior engineering experience (Lead or Tech Lead) with a deep mastery of the .NET 4.7.2 Framework.
UI/UX Frameworks: Proficient in building and maintaining sophisticated desktop interfaces using XAML and the MVVM design pattern.
Cloud Integration: Proven experience connecting desktop applications to external cloud services (RESTful APIs, cloud storage, or authentication providers).
Hybrid Environments: A track record of balancing the stability of production desktop environments with the continuous evolution of cloud-connected features.
Tooling & Automation: Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and release tooling tailored for Windows-based software distribution.
Linguistic Proficiency: Fluency in English (written and verbal); Danish is a plus.
Personal competencies
Technical Credibility: Lead through influence by demonstrating a deep understanding of desktop architecture and cloud connectivity.
Pragmatic Problem Solving: A solution-oriented approach to the unique challenges of the .NET Framework, such as memory management and legacy dependencies.
Mentorship: A passion for supporting the skill development of other engineers in desktop-centric patterns and modern integration practices.
Ownership: A focus on high-quality outcomes, ensuring our software remains a reliable tool for healthcare professionals and patients.
